Join us August 17

While it may have seemed a little quiet on the SPACE front, things have been moving behind the scenes, and we have some BIG news to celebrate!

You may have caught my update earlier this spring, but all of the playgrounds connected to the School District of La Crosse have now been, or are planned to be, converted from rubber chips to wood chips! This was the goal we set when we first learned about the potential human and environmental concerns associated with rubber playground surfaces.

And YOU helped make it happen!

Your voices, advocacy, research, persistence, and willingness to keep pushing made a real difference in our community. This is a pretty awesome accomplishment, and I think we deserve to celebrate it!

A little celebration, a little SPACE time, and considering the upcoming year. I will be asking if you are feeling energized to keep SPACE going and tackle something new, or should we celebrate this win, enjoy the success, and reconnect if another need arises? Here is an article to check out as you're deciding

Join us on Monday, August 17 at 7 p.m. at Chad Erickson Park. We’ll meet up, walk over to State Road School for a photo, and then enjoy some snacks and conversations together.

I’m incredibly grateful for this group and everything we’ve accomplished together. We started with a concern about playground materials, and we turned it into real change across La Crosse!

Hope to see you soon!
